Yolo Design was initiated in Cape Town, South Africa. It is the joint effort of three enterprising young women - Lindi Lawrenson, Megan Nealie and Bonney Goodman who pooled their combined skills and talent with that of a local artist to produce a hand made product of high quality and design in pewter and beadwork, reflecting the beauty and essence of Africa.

Using earth materials, Yolo Design is inspired by the shape and form of traditional African jewellery as worn by the many tribes of this vast continent.  Giving of jewellery is an ancient custom that celebrates love and friendship, and with this in mind, the name 'uyolo' was given to the product.  This word stems from the isiXhosa language and means happiness, a feeling of well-being and of a soothing, balanced energy.

Two of Yolo Designs pivotal aims are empowerment and job creation. Training and upskilling of workers at all levels is undertaken to ensure true empowerment is achieved. Future vision for the company includes establishing several independent companies, each with their own range of unique products under the mentorship of Yolo Design.
